Locations and Maps

The village stands on high ground and is a gravel plateau covered with woods and farm land.  Anyone digging deeply in their garden will come to good quality gravel.

The plateau dips gently north to the River Kennet valley and on to the River Thames.  To the south, through the Roman town of Silchester (Calleva Atrebatum) and on to Basingstoke with its chalk subsoil.
