Mortimer West End is a friendly village of some 500 residents located just inside the Hampshire border lying, as the name suggests, to the west of Mortimer. 

The history of Mortimer West End dates back to Roman times, with the ancient amphitheatre at Calleva Atrebatum falling within its boundaries.

Today, the village comprises mainly residential and farm land and is a pleasant place to live, combining rural location with easy access to nearby towns and cities including Basingstoke, Newbury, and Reading.
