Minerals & Waste in the Parish
Hampshire Councny Council has published the Minerals & Waste Strategy for the County. Included in the Strategy are the preferred sites for mineral extraction - in the case of Mortimer West End this means gravel.
A preferred site is shown for future extraction at Benyon’s Inclosure on Welshman’s Road.
The Strategy estimates that some 2.4 million tons of gravel could be taken from this site. The Strategy is published in hard copy and is available at Tadley Library. The complete details of the Strategy is available on line at:
www.hants.gov.uk/planning-development
If you wish to comment on the Strategy then the best way is to email Hampshire at:

The Strategy, after the consultation responses have been analysed, will go to a Public Enquiry which will probably take place in the late Summer 2009.
The Parish Council will try to keep you informed of any developments or meetings which can be arranged with Hampshire County Council. Please contact any Councillor - shown in this site under Parish Council - and they will be glad to help.
